MyNCBI Account

Within PubMed, you can create a personalized account called a MyNCBI Account.

Some of the main features of a MyNCBI Account include:

  • Creating collections of articles
  • Saving search strategies
  • Setting up email search alerts
  • Building your My Bibliography
  • Managing NIH Public Access Policy compliance
  • Choosing personalized display settings

Creating a MyNCBI Account

To create a MyNCBI Account:

  • Click on the Log In button in the top, right-hand corner of any PubMed screen
  • Click on Sign Up at the bottom of the Log In screen
  • Select the system that you want to use to create the account
    • MyNCBI requires that you use a third-party credential to log into your account, so you must choose one of the options
    • The HSL recommends using eRA Commons, ORCiD, or your OSU credentials (within more sign up options)
    • Due to restrictions from OSUWMC IT, using a Google or Facebook account is not possible while on the OSUWMC network
