Welcome to the PubMed Guide!  This guide is intended for any users of PubMed.  This includes students, faculty, or staff in any of the OSU health sciences colleges, the OSU Wexner Medical Center, the wider OSU community, or beyond.

The content includes both basic and advanced information, so you can choose the level that is most appropriate for you.

After viewing this guide, users will understand:

• What PubMed is and how it compares to other NLM resources, such as MEDLINE and PMC
• The basics of how PubMed is organized and functions when you put in search terms
• How to run a search, whether it be a quick/basic search, or a more complex/advanced search
• How to view your Search History and Details
• How to create a My NCBI account and use some common functions

The Health Sciences Library offers both Basic and Advanced PubMed Workshops throughout the year.
