What are Collections?

MyNCBI Account Collections let you easily save and collect articles that you find while searching for future reference.

You can have as many Collections as you want, and you can make them public in order to share them with your colleagues.

How do I save or add items to a Collection?

From a results list, select the items you want to save, then click on Send To and choose Collections at the top of the screen.  You can either add those items to a collection you have already created, or begin a new collection.

You can also send individual items to a Collection from within a single PubMed record.

How do I access my Collections in the future?

To access your Collections in the future, click on your username in the top right-hand corner of any PubMed screen, and select your Dashboard.

How do I share my Collection with another person?

When viewing your Collections from your account dashboard, you will see a cog icon next to each Collection that will say either Public or Private.

  • Private is the default setting and means only you can see the Collection within your account.
  • Public will give you a URL that can be copied and shared with other people so that they can view your Collection.

Simply click the cog icon and change the setting to Public in order to share a Collection.

How do I remove items from a Collection?

If you would like to remove items from a Collection, click on the Edit link next to the Collection in your Dashboard.

This will bring you to a list of all the items in that Collection.  You can select the items you want to delete, then click the Delete button at the top of the page.
