Introduction to the Health Sciences Library

Introduction

The EdTech Incubator (ETI), located on the fourth floor of Prior Hall, empowers enhanced education for future generations of health sciences professionals and inspires forward-thinking research that impacts Ohio communities and beyond.

The below spaces are available for reservation, but require training. Contact the ETI to learn more about the space and about scheduling a training session, or keep an eye on the HSL Events Calendar to register for one of our regularly-offered open training opportunities.

3D Printing Lab

3D Printing Lab

The 3D Printing Lab is presented as a partnership between The Ohio State University Medical Modeling Materials and Manufacturing (M4) College of Engineering, the Health Sciences Library and the College of Medicine. Learners from across the health sciences benefit from the lab's 3D printing equipment, training and student support. 3D modeling can be incorporated not only into the learning process, but also into clinical care. This lab will be the first of its kind on the Ohio State campus.

Anatomy Visualization

Immersive, advanced anatomical education and learning resources are available in this space to enhance students' learning experience. The Anatomy Visualization Zone utilizes virtual reality software for students to visualize different anatomical systems in 3D and a Sectra, touch-enabled table used for hands-on examination of human anatomy.

Virtual Reality

Our dedicated Virtual Reality space enables exploration of the latest equipment and software for medical and health sciences education, research and clinical care.

Computer Lab

Updated computers and other amenities provide additional much-requested public computing options for faculty, staff and learners who visit the Health Sciences Library and other Prior Hall building partners.

Reserve the lab through OSUWMC Events & Video Production.

THE Studio

Dedicated, soundproof video and audio recording space allows users to create professional videos that combine presentations with graphics, text and audio. A light board enables presenters to deliver video while allowing viewers to see body language and facial expressions. THE Studio is beginner-friendly and requires no previous recording experience apart from attending an introduction workshop.

Tech-Enhanced Classroom

A technology-enhanced classroom and meeting space in room 400, complete with tools for hybrid, fully virtual or fully in-person teaching, models the latest in teaching tools to create a full learning experience in any chosen modality.

Reserve the room through OSUWMC Events & Video Production.
