The EdTech Incubator (ETI) is an exciting new HSL space currently under development on the 4th floor of Prior Hall. A partnership between the College of Medicine, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Engineering, Health Sciences Library and Wexner Medical Center IT, the ETI is designed to serve as an innovation hub for medical and health sciences faculty, staff and learners at Ohio State.
Once completed, the ETI will consist of distinct hands-on spaces, or technology zones.
The below spaces are currently available for reservation, but require training. Contact the ETI to learn more about the space and about scheduling a session.
3D Printing Lab
The 3D Printing Lab is a partnership between The Ohio State University Medical Modeling Materials and Manufacturing (M4) College of Engineering, the Health Sciences Library and the College of Medicine. Learners from across the health sciences can benefit from the lab's 3D printing equipment, training and student support. 3D modeling can be incorporated not only into the learning process, but also into clinical care. This lab is the first of its kind on the Ohio State campus.
Anatomy Visualization
Immersive advanced anatomical education and learning resources are available in this space, to enhance students' learning experience.
Virtual Reality
This space enables exploration of the latest equipment and software for medical and health sciences education, research and clinical care. Currently accommodates groups of 3-4 at a time.
THE Studio
Dedicated, soundproof video and audio recording space allows users to create professional videos that combine presentations with graphics, text and audio. A light board enables presenters to deliver video while allowing viewers to see body language and facial expressions.
Augmented Reality
Additional equipment coming soon to the Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality zone!
Computer Lab
Updated computers and other amenities will provide additional much-requested public computing options for faculty, staff and learners who visit the Health Sciences Library and other Prior Hall building partners.
Enhanced Classroom
A technology-enhanced classroom, complete with tools for hybrid, fully virtual or fully in-person teaching, will model the latest in teaching tools to create a full learning experience in any chosen modality.
