What This Software Does

OpenRefine is an open source desktop application for data cleanup and transformation to other formats.  OpenRefine offers features such as faceting, clustering, and editing cells. The application is able to detect and fix inconsistencies and connect columns with other data sets.

How Can I Use This Software?

OpenRefine allows users to input data from various formats, explore datasets, apply cell transformations, create links between data sets, and perform data operations. Working similarly to Excel, OpenRefine has several functions to allow for filtering and viewing of data.

Technical Requirements

OpenRefine is available for all Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux users. OpenRefine requires users to have a working Java JRE installed.
