How Can I Use This Software?

NVivo is a useful data management tool but not a method of analysis. The software offers a way to organize data and allows users to make sense of the data during the process of analysis. This software is mostly used for coding large data sets in order to help create themes and patterns and search through the data.

NVivo for Windows
NVivo 10 for Windows is available to Ohio State faculty and staff on the main and regional campuses and in student labs, and is managed by OCIO. Home use of a license is allowed for OSU business purposes only. To request a license for the NVivo software, use the Order Services link of the OCIO Self Service catalog.

Technical Requirements

NVivo is available for Mac and Windows (XP or later, Vista SP or later, Windows 8 or 10) users. However, the Mac version is missing some features that the Windows version includes. The software requires 2 GB RAM or more.
