We've listed a selection of content from various resources available through the Health Sciences Library and other sources.

Skills and Procedures Videos

Patient Interview Skills:

  • Multimedia→Patient Interview - 2-10 min. videos demonstrating a variety of patient interview techniques.

Physical Exam Skills:

  • Multimedia→Auscultation Classroom - Short (~5 min.) modules illustrating auscultation for a variety of conditions.
  • Multimedia→Physical Exam - Videos (most < 20 min.) demonstrating physical exam techniques in a variety of specialities.

JoVE (the Journal of Visualized Experiments) is a video methods journal that publishes experimental techniques in a visual format with detailed text protocols to increase scientific reproducibility and productivity.  The library subscribes to 5 different JoVE titles:

Interactive Tools

Interactive Tool Highlights:

  • Multimedia→Human Anatomy Modules - These interactive modules allow for visualization of the human body in an interactive, 3D format where both male and female anatomy modules can be viewed. Human Anatomy Tours guide users through explorations of individual organs and systems.
  • Multimedia→Patient Safety ModulesThese modules provide an introduction to the core concepts of patient safety in an interactive and self-paced learning environment. The current course includes three (3) modules: Handwashing, Understanding Error, and Communication Concepts.
  • Cases - A large collection of case files from a variety of specialties; many include interactive elements.

Interactive Tool Highlights:

  • Multimedia→Interactive Guide to Physical Examination - Developed by OSU College of Medicine's Department of Family Medicine, these interactive modules are intended to bring the sights and sounds of the physical examination live.
  • Cases - Case files from a variety of specialties; many include video and interactive elements.

Interactive Tool Highlights:

  • Multimedia→Anatomy and Physiology Revealed - An interactive digital cadaver dissection tool. This multimedia study aid uses human cadaver specimens and animations and includes detailed information, audio pronunciations, quiz modules.  See the document below for more detail.
  • Multimedia→Interactive Modules - Modules incorporate videos, quizzes, images, and interactive elements covering clinical approaches to assessment and techniques for managing common injuries and pain.
