Writing in Nursing

The following books can help you as you develop your skills in writing in the health sciences.  They cover a broad range of topics, from undergraduates just starting to write for nursing all the way to practicing nurses writing articles for publication.  If you don't see a book for your topic, try searching the Library Catalog using the link in the box below.

When viewing the records for print books, you will see which library owns that particular book.  If the item you are interested in is located at a distant library (e.g. Newark or Lima), you can click on  to have it delivered to the local OSU Library of your choice.

  • If you are an out-of-state distance student, simply select Distance User (Out of State) as your pick-up location and our Interlibrary Services department will work with you to ship the item.
  • If you are an in-state distance student, you can request the item through the OhioLINK catalog to have it delivered to the nearest OhioLINK Library of your choice.  To do this, simply click the OhioLINK Catalog button at the top of the record, then click the green Request button to submit your request.

Writing in Non-Nursing Disciplines

Through your courses, you may be asked to write papers on a variety of topics.  No matter what discipline it may be, there is probably a book that can help as you navigate the assignment.  Below are a few books that may help you develop your writing skills, but there are many more available throughout the University Libraries.
