The Local Nursing Legends described on these exhibit pages have made a significant contribution to the nursing profession and the health care of people in central Ohio. Pioneers in their field, these nurses were nominated by members of the central Ohio nursing community as those who provided exemplary service to this population and whose actions and lives can be seen as legendary. This exhibit is curated by the Medical Heritage Center at the Health Sciences Library, located on the 5th floor in Prior Hall.

The Friends of Nursing History Steering Committee of the Medical Heritage Center of The Ohio State University Health Sciences Library collects, preserves, promotes, teaches, and celebrates the legacy of nursing in central Ohio. They also offer an annual lecture about nursing history in late April each year. Registration is free and open to all.
