Patient Resources and Handouts

The patient education departments of the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and The James offer easy to read, easy to understand, reliable handouts on many health conditions.  These handouts are available for you to view and print at no charge.

Patient Education Handouts

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and The James provides this website to look for consumer health patient education handouts, videos, and tools on any health topic. This website is also offered in Spanish.

To search:

  • Enter your health term in the Enter Search Term box and press enter to search for your health term. Select your handout by clicking on it.

To print:

  • Select the Advanced Printing Options button at the bottom of the page.

You may also search by health topic.

To search and print please follow the steps above.

There is a wide range of videos as well. Click on the videos to search. Once you have made a selection a video transcript, disclaimer, and credits will be available. 

The James Patient and Family Resource Center

The James Patient and Family Resource Center has a wealth of information on cancer. Visit the website to learn more about Community Cancer Education Resources, Patient Education Resources, Mental and Emotional Well-Being, Support Programs and much more.


The Patient and Family Resource Center is located on the ground floor of The James (460 W. 10th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43210) near the grand staircase at the east end of the lobby.


  • The center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
  • The telephone number is (614) 366-0602.
  • If you are unable to visit in person, you may also fill out a request form and the information will be delivered to you at no charge.
