We denounce racism of all forms. It is a social determinant of health that is damaging to our community, patients, faculty, staff and trainees. Acknowledging this is a foundation for structural and systemic change toward equity in health and well-being. Yet this is only the first step. The next step is action–improving our education, engagement, funding, policies and practices to accelerate this journey.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion drive excellence in research, education and patient care at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Health Science Colleges.

The Wexner Medical Center has developed the Health Equity program, "to engage every person in our organization to rethink and continually improve how we teach medicine, recruit and retain employees, provide ongoing training, structure research programs and deliver care."

At the Health Sciences Library, we work to: foster meaningful change; promote diversity and inclusion across our organization; and provide reliable and accessible health information to many different populations. However, we know we can be more intentional, and we are taking the steps listed on this page to do so.
