What is Medical Laboratory Science?

  • Medical laboratory science is the use of clinical laboratory tests to detect, diagnose, monitor, and treat disease. 
  • The tests and data used fall into five main categories: clinical chemistry, immunology, hematology, transfusion medicine, and microbiology.
