What is OhioLINK?

OhioLINK is a state-wide academic library consortia that provides access to items throughout the state.

This means that if a book is not available at Ohio State, or our copy is already checked out, you can see if another institution in Ohio owns it and have it shipped to an Ohio State library location for you.

Finding Books in OhioLINK

There are two ways to find books through OhioLINK.

First, when you are already in the OSU Library Catalog, you can click the  OhioLINK Catalog Button  button to switch to the OhioLINK Catalog.

Second, you can go directly to the OhioLINK Catalog (link below) and search for books by title, keyword, or author.

Requesting Books Through OhioLINK

When you find the item that you want, click on OhioLINK Request Button to request that the material be shipped to the library location of your choice.

Below are detailed instructions on how to request an OhioLINK book.

  1. Locate the book you want to request
  2. Click on the green Request button
  3. Select Ohio State U from the dropdown menu of schools
  4. Enter your name.#@osu.edu email address and your standard OSU password
  5. Choose your pickup location from the dropdown menu of options
    1. Tip: If you are not located in Columbus and would like to have your item sent to another OhioLINK institution, you can do that by picking another Pickup Institution and Location.  Just be sure to check in with that location to confirm how you can pickup your materials when they arrive.
