Being able to identify the appropriate research methodology for a research topic is an important skill to have, both when preparing for your own research project and when looking for studies that may already exist.  The resources below will help you gain a better understanding of the different research methodologies available.

Searching for sources that cover specific protocols for basic science research can be difficult if you have not been immersed in that area of research previously.
